The Beaver Bicentennial Streetscape Project consisted of the revitalization of Beaver’s core central business district. Sidewalks were replaced with brick pavers, new pedestrian lighting was added, and all utility poles and lines were moved behind the buildings fronting Third Street. In coordination with PennDOT, new signalization poles were added that complemented the overall design. The landscaping included small trees, planting areas, wrought iron fencing, and accent lighting. The project was well received by the community as it celebrated its 200th birthday in 2002! Beaver Clock Tower sits proudly at the center of town as it chimes every 15 minutes on the hour. This new centerpiece was designed utilizing the former Beaver County courthouse clock tower, circa 1890, as its model. The clock tower was manufactured in Kentucky and delivered in two pieces, the large clock section and the cupola with finial on top. The delivery of the clock became a community event as people lined the street to watch it be lifted high in the air to sit upon the platform structure. The dedication of the clock tower was held at the Beaver Bicentennial Parade in September of 2002.
